Steve Caine at MP 57.2 in Cajon Pass

The picture above shows me, on January 12, 1991, on top of the fill at MP 57.2 where the North Track crosses the Old Hesperia Road about 1.2 miles Time-Table-West of Summit on Santa Fe's Cajon Subdivision (old First District). The train is Santa Fe 5806 East with the head end out of the picture to the right. It is stopped behind preceding traffic which is waiting for a Green at Summit. [Photograph by Robert L.
